Master - MV Cameron

An opportunity currently exists to join Briggs, an established company specialising in the supply of Marine and Environmental services.

The Master is responsible for the safe and efficient day to day operation of the vessel and tasks assigned, taking all necessary actions for safety and pollution prevention.

 In this role you will have the demonstrable skills and experience in the following areas;

  • Reporting Health and Safety incidents and vessel defects
  • Implement the Company Health and Safety Policies
  • Identification and organisation of all onboard training requirements
  • Compliance with all statutory regulations and Company procedures
  • Assigning roles to Senior Officers in accordance with SMS requirements
  • Maintenance of the SMS certification and coordination of audits with the Designated Person Ashore
  • Review of all onboard contingency plans, risk assessments and procedures
  • Ensuring all statutory surveys are coordinated and completed within the prescribed timescales
  • Submit regular reports to Operations Manager

You technical skillset and experience should reflect the following:

  • Minimum of 500 Tonnes Master Certificate of Competency UK Coastal or equivalent
  • Experience with azimuth propulsion is beneficial, although not essential
  • Excellent vessel handling skills
  • Previous practical hands- on experience

This is a permanent position and is based on a rotation of month on, month off.
