On Saturday 2nd July the Woolwich Ferry set sail up the River Thames with hundreds of young people, their parents and carers for a fun day out in the sunshine passing through Tower Bridge, which opened especially for the event.

Briggs Marine has signed a contract for the provision of a Meercat MM15 15 metre oil spill response vessel to work in the Mersey. The vessel, which will service one of Briggs’ long term contracts, will be delivered later this year. It has been carefully designed to allow a wide range of other activities to be undertaken, these in addition to its main role of oil pollution prevention.
To support the Company’s continued growth in the Port Services market, Briggs Marine has ordered three ORC 171 Pilot launches from Goodchild Marine. The vessels, which are to be delivered in 2017, are destined for Liverpool where they will form part of an ongoing process of fleet renewal in one of Briggs’ increasing number of long-term contracts.
The Woolwich Ferry Linkspan Project has been awarded the 2016 infrastructure Project Trophy at the RICS Award Ceremony, which took place at The Lancaster Hotel in London last night.
Briggs Environmental Services Ltd has secured a five-year contract from BP to act as its oil spill lead across the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) and to provide oil spill response services in the north of Scotland.

Briggs Marine’s Subsea Services division has successfully installed a 1400m 33kV electricity cable across Loch Tay. The installation, on behalf of Green Highland Renewables, stretched between Ardtalnaig and Lawers. The new cable facilitates the export of up to 2MW of green electricity from a privately owned hydro scheme at Ardtalnaig onto the national grid.
