CONTRACT MANAGER


Location: LIVERPOOL

An opportunity currently exists to join Briggs, an established and expanding company specialising in the supply of Marine and Environmental services. The Contract Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Pilot Launch contract.

Working closely with the Technical Manager the Contract Manager will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Liverpool Pilot Launch Service. This includes the 24hr manning and operation of a fleet of Pilot Launches as well as their associated planned and reactive maintenance programmes. A number of other workboats are also maintained under the same contract. The Contract Manager will also oversee the introduction of five new pilot launches over the course of the contract.

The ideal candidate will have a unique set of skills, with a background in marine operations and/or the workboat industry as well as possessing the interpersonal skills required for close client management and interactions with key stakeholders. Maintaining a safe, high quality and reliable service is critical, therefore the ideal candidate will need to be able to evidence strong leadership skills as well as proven contract management and customer facing skills.

Principal Responsibilities Include;

Acting as the primary company representative for the contract. This will require daily interactions with customers and key stakeholders.

Line Management of the Coxswains team and overseeing the maintenance delivery through the Technical Manager.

Managing the shift system ensuring there is sufficient resource to maintain a continuous service 24 hrs a day.

Working with the Technical Manager to ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance is carried out in accordance with legislation, within timelines and set budgets

Budget management and operational reporting.

Your technical profile will reflect the following essential skill set:

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. Marine / Business

IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent

Experience in the following areas;
o Marine Operations
o Contract management
o Leadership
o Supply Chain Management

IT Skills – Microsoft Office experience, in particular Word, Excel (Advanced)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Full UK Manual Driving Licence or equivalent

The ideal candidate will have a proactive, positive and flexible approach to successfully manage and develop this contract. Occasional travel throughout the UK is required.
