Electro/Hydraulic Power Pack to Drive 1 to 4 Single Wheel Pairs

 

The unit provides power to drive between 1 to 4 single wheel pair drive wheels.

 

The unit comprises an electric motor driving a variable displacement hydraulic pump, linked to gear type pumps, all to power the motors and hydraulic cylinders of the single wheel pair hydraulic drive wheels. Water coolers are provided in the hydraulic circuit to stop the system overheating.

 

Four number hydraulic supplies are provided, each fed from a rotary flow divider, to maintain the same flow to each pair of drive wheels. Control valves can be adjusted to alter the flows to suit the number of wheel pairs being driven. The unit and drive wheels are controlled from a separate remote hydraulic pilot operated consul. The unit provides hydraulic power to drive the wheels when hauling cable and powers the hydraulic cylinders which exert the required grip pressure between the wheels onto the cable.

 

The unit also includes the necessary valves and controls to operate the drive wheels as a hydraulic brake system, for use when laying cable maintaining the required speed and back tension to the cable during this operation.

 

A separate electrical and water supply is required to operate this unit.
