Coxswain – Liverpool

The Role

You will assume complete responsibility for managing and ensuring the safe operation of a diverse range of vessels. This will entail proficiently handling equipment, as well as promoting the wellbeing of both the crew and passengers.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Moor and unmoor vessels under the direction of vessel pilots or crew members in accordance with safe working practices
  • Carry out Pilot Transfer Services (PTS) using a dedicated Pilot Vessel
  • Operate a handheld VHF radio, for communication with colleagues or vessels
  • Be a member of the line handling and PTS crew during operations, following safe systems of work and procedures
  • Operate and monitor the use of shoreside winches and hooks
  • Deliver Toolbox Talks to crew members prior to any vessel operations
  • Ensure vessel checks are carried out in line with company operating procedures

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of operations in a marine setting; proficiency in navigating shipping charts and adhering to regulations is essential.

The minimum qualifications for this role include holding an Advanced Powerboat license or a Yachtmaster Power certificate with commercial endorsement as well as an ENG1 medical certificate.

A valid full UK Driving License is also essential.
