Ferry Operator - Stanlow

The Role

Briggs Marine are currently looking for an experienced Ferry Operator on a part time basis.

The nature of the role is to Operate the Ferry service between Stanlow North Site and Stanlow Island berths in accordance with site rules and regulations in order to provide safe travel to and from Stanlow Island.

Principal Responsibilities

Providing safe travel to and from Stanlow Island for client personnel, Briggs personnel, Pilots, Ships Crew, Shipping Agents and Ships Chandlers in order to comply with ISPS Regulations.
Facilitating the movement of ships stores and small maintenance equipment from North Site to Stanlow Island to ensure an efficient movement of goods.
Providing vessel reporting to Eastham Control and other bodies, with the use of a handheld VHF radio, to ensure all parties are aware of vessels in the area.
Undertaking cosmetic maintenance of the Ferries, the Ferry Operators hut and the landing stages to reduce costs and help identify larger maintenance areas.
Assisting in the mooring and unmooring of vessels on Stanlow Island and Stanlow Laybye Berth, as agreed with your line manager, in accordance with the vessel size and mooring guidelines.
Assist with daily checks and minor maintenance on Stanlow work boat to include vessel security, oil levels and pumping out of bilges to reduce costs and help identify larger maintenance issues.
Working safely within the Lifesaving Rules as set by the client to ensure the safety of all workers.
Responding to incidents, hazardous conditions or emergencies and reporting and correcting such occurrences, ensuring the safety of the site and personnel

The Candidate

The successful applicant will have relevant experience in a similar role, qualified with RYA level 2 and be flexible with working hours as you will be required to work 2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights followed by 16 days off. Rotated with current Operators.

You must be able to provide relevant documentation confirming that you have the right to work in the UK.
