The Role
We are currently looking at adding to a well established team of Mooring Assistants based in Sheerness. The role of a Mooring Assistant is to undertake and assist with mooring activities in The Port of Sheerness.
Principal Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to moor ships at various locations in and around the Port of Sheerness.
- Operate a hand-held VHF for communicating with colleagues and vessels.
- Crew Pilot launch and workboats as required
- Communicate effectively with Team Leaders and colleagues to provide an effective service.
- Drive a company vehicle for the purpose of transporting yourself and other colleagues to a work site.
- Adhere to all company procedures and policies.
- Carry out any other task deemed appropriate by management
The Candidate
You will be self motivated and confident in your own ability to train and undertake responsibilities required, this is an ad-hoc zero hours contract so you must be flexible with working hours to assist with the operation when required. Excellent opportunity to join the team on a permanent basis or if looking for extra working hours then this would be of interest.
