The Role

We are actively seeking a Procurement Assistant to join our team at our head office in Burntisland, Fife, for a full-time permanent position. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing various aspects of the procurement function and logistical operations.

Main Duties

  • Sourcing goods, materials and services required by the organisation.
  • Negotiating supplier pricing.
  • Negotiating long term agreements and contracts with preferred suppliers.
  • Placing of daily purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Controlling operational aspects related to places, times, and strategic planning for purchases.
  • Keeping up to date with market trends
  • Maintaining detailed records and accounts and reporting to the Procurement Manager.
  • Working with and supporting each division in achieving its business plan target

Technical Integrity

  • CIPS or similar qualification in purchasing preferred but not essential.
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Excel spreadsheets
  • Good understanding of Sage Line 500 system or other similar procurement software
  • Adherence to Company and Regulatory documentation and procedures.
  • Familiarisation and application of the latest guidelines specific to the procurement function
