Second Officer - Kingdom of Fife

The Role

Working on board our Kingdom of Fife vessel you will assist the Chief Officer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel at all times, the Ships Second Officer is the vessels navigating officer and the designated Shipboard Safety Officer.

Principal Responsibilities

To perform the duties and responsibilities of the Shipboard Safety Officer
Ensure that all Navigational charts and publications are corrected to date
Maintenance of Lifesaving and fire fighting Equipment
To assist the Master in Passage planning and ensuring the availability of all necessary charts and publications for the voyage
Take control of a Mooring or Anchoring party as required
Deputise for the Chief Officer in his Absence
To perform bridge and deck watches as appropriate to the vessels operation
Take charge of a Cargo and Bridge watch
Take control of counter pollution teams as required.
Comply with pollution prevention requirements
Responsibilities as identified as part of the vessels Emergency teams.

The Must Haves

Officer of the Watch Deck II/2 Unrestricted (<3000gt) and Certificate of Equivalent Competency if CoC obtained outwith UK
Advanced Fire prevention and firefighting
FF & FP certificate
Personal Safety and Social responsibilities
Personal Survival techniques
Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats
Medical First aid aboard ships
GMDSS radio operators certificate
Unrestricted ENG1 Medical Certificate
