YARD/JETTY LEADING HAND – HAMBLE

An opportunity currently exists to join the Briggs Group, an established company specialising in marine and environmental services.

The Yard/Jetty Leading Hand is responsible for supervising and organising the overall man power for vessel arrival and departure. The day to day man power of the Tank Farm. Implementing Client and Company safety systems.

Principle Responsibilities;

  • Supervise the activities of jetty operations.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness exercise. Including the planning of.
  • Supervise jetty maintenance projects as and when required.(control of works)
  • Carry out general marine office administration duties including the review and updating of procedures.
  • Complete incident reports and investigations as required.
  • Enter jetty maintenance jobs and material requests into Frontline via work orders and defects.
  • Maintenance Coordination of Frontline inspections/ Emergency Response/ Ship’s waste.
  • Monitor and implement repair of maintenance schedule for BP jetty transport vehicles (Buggies)

Your technical profile will reflect the following;

Essential skillset;

  • Good understanding of Safe Operating Procedures.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Work well in a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrate positive behaviours, with a can-do attitude.
  • Understand, maintain and supervise a shift ROTA system.
  • Flexibility within the role to delegate and supervise.

The successful candidate should be able to respond to onsite emergencies to meet operational demands.

Training will be provided; however candidates are expected to demonstrate an understanding of site safety regulations and the hazardous characteristics of the substances handled.
