How did your 8-week Marketing Internship give you an insight into Briggs Marine as an organisation, the culture, projects and type of work?
It showed me how Briggs operates locally, regionally and internationally; as well as what it takes to become part of the team. I was made to feel involved from day one and my projects were specifically designed to add value to the business. Briggs has a strong history and culture, it is a great place to work, very diverse and no one day was the same.
What type of work did you do during your internship; did you have specific projects?
My internship at Briggs involved a placement in the marketing team. My main projects were to work on updating the Company’s Wikipedia page, set up a new Instagram account and visit various sites to take videos and photos for the website and social media channels.
How would you describe your Internship at Briggs?
My internship was a challenging and very rewarding experience. I improved my communication, team-building, problem-solving and analytical skills and thoroughly enjoyed working amongst a very diverse, on the go and knowledgeable team. Successfully delivering on my projects was very fulfilling and definitely the highlight of my internship.
Would you encourage other students to apply for an internship with Briggs?
Absolutely, experiencing an internship with Briggs gave me the opportunity to discover what the Company has to offer as an employer and also for me to see what it takes to become part of the marketing team. The work I completed during my internship added real value to the business and gave me the opportunity to work with many people from various divisions and sites, which was a really interesting way to spend the summer.
