Briggs Marine Awarded Four Year Contract with Port of Ramsgate

Briggs Marine Contractors Ltd (BMC) has recently been awarded a four-year (+ one year) Aids to Navigation maintenance and refurbishment contract with the Port of Ramsgate.

The Port of Ramsgate is one of 26 ports in England and Wales that are run by local council authorities. Thanet Council, who is responsible for the Port of Ramsgate, announced their requirement for a new contractor in May earlier this year.

Briggs Marine will be responsible for maintaining the buoys on site which includes using specialist equipment to lift them out of the water before power washing, measuring components and checking lanterns on the deck of their vessel, MV Cameron. Buoys for full refurbishment will be transported to their specialist refurbishing facility in Burntisland, Fife, where the buoys will be blasted and repainted before being returned to site.
