Briggs supports Mental Health

The Briggs Group has an inclusive environment, which promotes diversity and endeavours to ensure there is no discrimination. The Company understands the importance of its most valuable assets – its people and wants to help them develop their full potential, be happy and stay healthy.

The Company provides all our employees access to a 24-hour confidential Employee Assistance Programme, where they can speak to a councillor either by telephone, email or one-to-one about any issues affecting them be it at work or in their home life.

To ensure we support and recognise the signs of our employees who may be suffering from mental health, two members of our Human Resource Department qualified in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) earlier this year.

The aims of our Mental Health First Aiders are:

  • To preserve life
  • To provide help to prevent the mental health problem or crisis developing into a more serious state
  • To promote the recovery of good mental health
  • To provide comfort to an employee or person experiencing distress
  • To promote understanding of mental health issues
