Briggs Marine Achieves ISO 27001 Certification

Briggs Marine has achieved ISO 27001 certification, find out more how this can help us, our customers and our employees.

Briggs Marine has achieved ISO 27001 certification, as part of its roadmap to having a secure infrastructure and providing assurances to employees and customers that their information is being protected.

The company, which specialises in port & marine operations, subsea & environmental support, as well as vessel charter, announced it had obtained the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 27001 this week, after auditors approved its Information Security Management System.

Achieving accredited certification to ISO 27001 demonstrates Briggs Marine has the correct policies, procedures, and systems in place to protect the data it handles from unauthorised access. Together with its existing Cyber Essentials Certification, the company hope to instil even greater confidence in all stakeholders.

Andrew Anderson, Head of IT at Briggs Marine commented “We have a varied customer base and we believe they are all equally important and should be assured that we have a real focus on Information security. Briggs Marine aims to reduce cyber threats and avoid data breaches to ensure the data of our company, our employees and our customers is secure.”

He continued, “Whilst ISO 27001 is not a legal requirement, customers have an expectation that their information is in safe hands. We hope certification is demonstration of our ongoing commitment to identifying, managing and eliminating information security risks both now and into the future.”

Briggs Marine is now gearing up to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, which alone, is testament to the company’s dedication to strive for the highest standards.
