It’s been a busy few months for our High Voltage (HV) Termination and Testing (T&T) team. We were delighted to be asked to work with Wirescan AS (creators of the LIRA cable testing software), to carry out LIRA testing on two Export cables for a major UK project. All test data was collected by Briggs staff using our in-house LIRA equipment & subsequently issued to Wirescan ready for Analysis.
 
The LIRA (Line Resonance Analysis) technology is a cable condition assessment, cable fault location, and cable aging management system. It detects and locates changes in the cable impedance and makes it possible to perform fault location and cable condition monitoring on Instrumentation & Control (I&C), low, medium and high voltage cables.
