Briggs Marine is proud to have partnered with Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) as the main contractor on a vital subsea cable replacement project this summer. The work forms part of SSEN’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a resilient electricity network for island communities.
Briggs Marine delivered cable lay, shore end support, dive support, HV services and stabilisation and trenching operations for 5 subsea power cables installed back to back, on behalf of SSEN to ensure reliable power supply for years to come.
The project involved complex planning and execution in challenging marine environments, with operations supported by Briggs Marine’s in house Subsea Cables team, Diving department, HV Services department and Briggs owned dedicated vessels.
From detailed seabed surveys to precision cable laying and protection, every stage was carried out with safety and environmental responsibility at the forefront. These works are essential to strengthening infrastructure and supporting SSEN’s investment in future-proofing energy networks.
We are delighted to play a central role in projects that make a real difference to communities and contribute to a sustainable energy future.
