Briggs Marine has become the UK’s sole provider of the revolutionary BarrelEye dive products, including the pioneering 4k dive camera system. The agreement extends to the provision of Service and Support for the UK and European market.
The BarrelEye system was designed and manufactured in Australia after vigorous research and development by UAM Tec – leading providers of advanced subterranean and sub-aquatic technology solutions. Now with this distribution and service arrangement in place, it significantly increases accessibility of the innovative diving system to UK commercial divers and marine industry.
What is the BarrelEye Dive System?
The BarrelEye, which has been designed ‘by divers for divers’, ergonomically fits onto a Kirby Morgan dive helmet and was created to improve the quality of footage generated in low visibility waters. Delivering 4k footage, whilst also providing live depth and temperature readings, the BarrelEye enables the sharing of high-definition underwater recordings with clients to communicate findings more clearly.
Joining Forces with UAM Tec
Having met UAM Tec at the annual Seawork event in 2023, Briggs were highly impressed by the quick and easy installation of the system onto the diving helmets as well as its crisp footage and live data streaming capabilities.
After a rigorous trial, and after receiving extremely positive feedback from clients, Briggs committed to a significant investment for their diving division to upgrade all of their dive spreads to include the BarrelEye dive system.
Elaborating on how Briggs and UAM Tec’s distribution agreement came to be, Craig Smales, Sales Director of UAM Tec said

As Briggs look to introduce the system as an integral part of their subsea spreads for the Diving Division, UAM Tec’s research does not stop. They continue to research innovations such as diver bio sensors, heads up display, imaging sonar and, to enhance existing digital communications, dual comms to provide redundancy in critical diver / supervisor communications.
