Briggs Marine has appointed Scott Ward as its “Moorings & Aids to Navigation” General Manager, who has a wealth of experience and a successful track record in the marine industry.

Previously Briggs Marine’s HSEQ Group Manager, Scott has driven significant improvements, delivering a programme of safety initiatives. He started his career at 17 as a Deck Boy on container ships before moving onto Coastal and Harbour Tugs where he advanced through the ranks to become Captain.

Upon receiving the promotion, Scott said

I’m genuinely excited to be stepping into this role. My predecessor did a fantastic job and I look forward to building upon that foundation. There’s a strong, dedicated team in place, and I’m looking forward to leading them as we continue to deliver high-quality services. The industry is constantly evolving, and with the forthcoming addition of the Forth Constructor to our fleet, I believe we’re well-positioned to take on new challenges and opportunities.”

When asked what the new vessel brings to the table for Briggs Marine, Scott advised

The Forth Constructor is a significant investment in our fleet. It has been designed to specifically meet the demands of the maintenance and support tasks we handle, particularly for moorings and aids to navigation. But the vessel’s advanced capabilities mean we can also offer a broader range of projects, including survey work (with it’s dedicated survey office) and wind farm projects (with a CTV Boarding Ladder). This will not only enhance our service offerings but also provide our clients with the confidence that their assets are in capable hands.”

Scott’s immediate focus will be on ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining the high standards that clients expect from Briggs Marine. He confirmed

I aim to continue prioritising quality and safety in our operations whilst continuing to evolve to meet our clients’ needs. The commissioning of the Forth Constructor is just one example of how we’re adapting to meet future demands. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure that Briggs Marine remains a trusted partner for our clients. The future is bright, and I’m thrilled to be leading the division at such a pivotal time.”
