Mark Willbourn, Briggs Marine’s project manager for the new Woolwich Ferries, was interviewed by Polish television on his recent visit to Rementowa in Gdansk.

The ferries, which are being built under the supervision of Briggs Marine, had the first steel cutting during the visit and the event was marked with a small ceremony.

Whilst discussing the ferries, Mark said ‘these will be a marked improvement from the current ferry service in London…they are very efficient and will lead the way to lower emissions in the capital which is one the main policies set out by the mayor of London’.

The new hybrid-propelled (diesel, electric and battery) ferries are to be introduced into service in 2018.
